ACCG Committee Volunteer named Teacher of the Year

Zee Ann Poerio, a third grade teacher at St. Louise de Marillac school in Pittsburgh has been recognized by the WalMart family of stores in a national program of support for education. The local award qualifies Ms. Poerio for consideration as Teacher of the Year at state level under this program. Poerio is a member of the ACCG Education and Youth Programs Task Force. Full story

UPDATE! Brooklyn YN selected for ACCG Scholarship

The ACCG funds an annual scholarship for a Young Numismatist to study ancient coins at the American Numismatic Association Summer Seminar. The ANA has announced that Sam Spiegel, the 2006 recipient of this ACCG scholarship has been named ANA Young Numismatist of the Year. Zee Ann Poerio, an elementary school teacher in Pittsburgh has parlayed success upon success in teaching the classics with the help of ancient coins and ancient coin collectors.
