Collectors wishing to express their concerns or register their opinions with their legislators in Washington can do so by fax online free of charge.
October 14, 2004
The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has entered an agreement with Vhobbies.com,LLC to assume sole sponsorship of the VCoins Fax Wizard as of October 1, 2004. The online service, developed by Bill Puetz, provides an easy and free opportunity for ancient coin collectors to register their views with key legislators in Washington. Since the Anthrax contamination of congressional mail, the preferred method of contact with lawmakers has been letters by fax. Many collectors, however, do not have easy access to a fax machine.
The Fax Wizard not only provides the opportunity for users to type their message into the system via a standard web browser, it also identifies the sender's congressional representative and dials the number automatically. As a result, the recipient receives a hard copy letter, much preferable to an email, from the person utilizing this service.
ACCG Executive Director Wayne G. Sayles, in commenting on the agreement, lauded Mr. Puetz for his selfless contribution to the hobby. "Bill Puetz undertook this project at his own expense, and for many months of very active use was the sole provider of financial support. Because of his generosity, a great many collectors were able to weigh in on the issues presently before congress." He went on to say that "It is with pride and satisfaction that the ACCG can, at this early stage of its existence, now assume the financial burden for this very useful tool."
Collectors wishing to avail themselves of this free opportunity to be heard by their representatives in Washington will find the Fax Wizard at http:vcoins.com/fax
