Preserving our freedom to collect

The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has become a driving force in the ongoing effort to protect coin collectors and museums in which coins are stored from being forced to give up these items to foreign governments under the premise the coins are the cultural patrimony of the claimant nation. — Richard Giedroyc, World Coin News April 26, 2010

ACCG Sponsors YN Scholarship

A Young Numismatist will attend the 2005 ANA Summer Seminar thanks to ACCG funding.

December 04, 2004

Each summer, the American Numismatic Association conducts a highly acclaimed series of seminars in numismatics at its headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Among the many choices available are courses in ancient numismatics taught by experienced specialists in the field. These are focussed full-day programs and are appropriate for beginning through advanced students. For the five-day session beginning on June 25, 2005, the Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has arranged to sponsor a Young Numismatist between the ages of 13 and 22. The only stipulation is that the course taken be related to ancient numismatics. This competitive scholarship will include airfare, tuition, room and board for the selected applicant. Details about last year's Summer Seminar program can be found at:

Details of the 2005 program will be posted soon on the ANA web site. The scholarship program is administered by the ANA. General details and an application are available online at

The ACCG Young Numismatist scholarship is an initiative of the Education and Youth Programs Task Force staffed by Kerry K. Wetterstrom, Dr. Brent Upchurch and Brett Telford.
