The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has become a driving force in the ongoing effort to protect coin collectors and museums in which coins are stored from being forced to give up these items to foreign governments under the premise the coins are the cultural patrimony of the claimant nation. — Richard Giedroyc, World Coin News April 26, 2010

ACCG and members support ACE program

The support of ACCG and of many individual members of the guild is recognized on the ACE web site.

June 23, 2008

Ancient Coins for Education, a non-profit organization established in 2001 to promote the learning of classical history through ancient numismatics, has a reinvigorated web site with excellent resources for educators at all levels. Recent articles on the ACE web site http://ancientcoinsforeducation.org/ highlight the individual contributions of many ACCG members and of the guild itself. The ACCG funds a grant program to develop and expand classroom activities through ACE. Individual ACCG members have also donated coins, books and other materials for use in ACE and related classical education programs.

ACE is an Affiliate Member organization of the ACCG and has provided background and input for Cultural Property Advisory Committee hearings and has done much to enhance community relations and public awareness of the value and utility of private collecting of ancient coins. The support of ACE is one way that every collector or dealer can make a major contribution to the hobby. To find out how to make donations of coins or supplies contact ACE at ACEassist@comcast.net
