ACCG to participate in Portable Antiquities conference

The ACCG will present a paper on "Coin Collectors and Cultural Property Nationalism" at Newcastle University (UK)

A conference hosted by the Council for British Archaeology and the International Centre for Cultural and Heritage Studies will convene on March, 13-14 at Newcastle University. The theme is "Portable Antiquities: Archaeology, Collecting, Metal Detecting" and speakers will represent a wide range of views on the preservation of cultural property within the context of recent research and present initiatives but looking to questions addressing the future of portable antiquity management. ACCG executive director Wayne Sayles will present a summary PowerPoint program following the general outline of a 61-page document created in response to the event. A post-conference report on the gathering will be posted on this site.
