The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has become a driving force in the ongoing effort to protect coin collectors and museums in which coins are stored from being forced to give up these items to foreign governments under the premise the coins are the cultural patrimony of the claimant nation. — Richard Giedroyc, World Coin News April 26, 2010

Seattle Numismatic Society joins ACCG Affiliates

The Seattle Numismatic Society becomes the 12th independent numismatic organization to join the ACCG as an Affiliate Member.

June 22, 2005

The ACCG is proud to welcome the Seattle Numismatic Society to a growing list of numismatic organizations supporting the work of the guild.

The SNS was formed in 2003 with a merger of the Seattle Coin Club and the University Coin Club. SNS meetings are held at the McClure Middle School, 1915 1st Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119 (Queen Anne Hill), at 7:15 PM on the 3rd Thursday of most months. There are currently no July-August meetings scheduled, and there is an off-site banquet each February. The Seattle Coin Club was founded in 1936, and the University Coin Club was founded in 1960. Although the UCC met near the University of Washington, it was not affiliated with the university. Officers of the new club were selected at the January 16, 2003 regular meeting, and were subsequently reelected.
The club president is Steve Cox.

Collectors of all interest levels are invited to join the SNS. Club bylaws, contact personnel and club activities are posted on the SNS web site at http://www.pnna.org/clubs/sns/
