The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has become a driving force in the ongoing effort to protect coin collectors and museums in which coins are stored from being forced to give up these items to foreign governments under the premise the coins are the cultural patrimony of the claimant nation. — Richard Giedroyc, World Coin News April 26, 2010

Wisconsin District a Friend of Numismatics

The 7th Congressional District Republican Party was presented with the first "Friend of Numismatics" award of the ACCG.

May 27, 2005

7th Congressional District Chairman Bill Johnson (left) and co-chair Sean Duffy (center) accept the ACCG "Friend of Numismatics" award at the 2005 Wisconsin State GOP Convention in Sheboygan.

Thanking the representatives of the 7th Congressional District GOP, Wayne G. Sayles presented the ACCG's first award of this type in appreciation for the district's solid support of the Collectors Rights Resolution brought before the convention (see related story within). The 7th District is comprised of counties within the north central and western parts of Wisconsin. The plaque contains an original sculpture of the guild logo, created by Selma Tahberer of Adana, Turkey. The ACCG logo is composed of personifications of History and Liberty standing beneath the scales of justice and enclosed within a filleted wreath.
